"The Changing Nature of Authority: Integrating Waldorf and NVC"
Workshop by John Cunningham (Video in DVD format)
This workshop focuses on how we can foster a culture of respect and cooperation within our families and classrooms through compassionate communications (Nonviolent Communication or NVC). By looking at the nature of authority, motivation, discipline, and needs we will explore ways to integrate NVC with Waldorf parenting or teaching.

I am feeling disappointed about this entry "The changing Nature of Authority" as I was really hoping to read some of John Cunningham's view on Waldorf and NVC. My child's school seems to adopt a more "because I said so" approach to discipline, and I really prefer the NVC model as when I hold true to the principles, my home is filled with peace and understading and love.
Is there somewhere on this site where I can read a little more about NVC and Waldorf or do I have to purchase a dvd or cd to obtain the information?

Thank you for your interst and for pointing out a need! I'll ask John if we can publish some of his written material on NVC and Waldorf. More and more schools are exploring it, offering workshops on NVC at teachers' conferences etc. John will be offering a training over several weeks this summer at the Rudolf Steiner Institute on the East Coast (for parents and teachers). --Rahima
